**2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR OPENING** RESUME MUST BE SUBMITTED WITH APPLICATION Location: LEE HS (NESA, STEM, ISA) Work Schedule: 11 Months Work Type: Regular Full-Time Exempt: Yes Pay Grade: A6 REASONS TO JOIN NEISD **IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING CALCULATION OF PAY: The annual pay for this position is pro-rated based on the effective date of the assignment EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE : Masters Degree Two years acceptable classroom teaching experience Four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience CERTIFICATION : Assistant Principal or other appropriate Texas Certificate by the State Board for Educator Certification Certified Professional Development and Appraisal System (PDAS) Appraiser High School Diplomas and college/university degrees must be obtained from an accredited program or university approved by the United States Department of Education and the Texas Education Agency.
PRIMARY PURPOSE SUMMARY : Assists the Director in the overall administration of the instructional program and operations at the campus level.
Coordinates assigned student activities and services.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Instructional Management 1.
Participate in development and evaluation of educational programs.
2.
Encourage and support development of innovative instructional programs, helping teachers pilot such efforts when appropriate.
3.
Promote the use of technology in teaching/learning process.
School/Organizational Climate 4.
Promote a positive, caring climate for learning.
5.
Deal sensitively and fairly with persons from diverse cultural backgrounds.
6.
Communicate effectively with students and staff.
School/Organizational Improvement 7.
Participate in development of campus improvement plans with staff, parents and community members.
8.
Help Director develop, maintain, and use information systems to maintain records to track progress on campus performance objectives and academic excellence indicators.
Personnel Management 9.
Observe employee performance, record observations, and conduct evaluation conferences.
10.
Serve as second appraiser for designated teacher appraisal system.
11.
Assist Director in interviewing, selecting and orienting new staff.
Administration and Fiscal/Facilities Management 12.
Supervise operations in principal's absence.
13.
Help plan daily school activities by participating in the development of class schedules, teacher assignments and extracurricular activity schedules.
14.
Supervise reporting and monitoring of student attendance and work with attendance clerk on follow-up investigations.
15.
Work with department heads and faculty to compile annual budget requests based on documented program needs.
16.
Requisition supplies, textbooks, and equipment; check inventory; maintain records; and verify receipts for materials.
17.
Assist with safety inspections and safety drill practice activities.
18.
Coordinate transportation, custodial, cafeteria and other support services.
19.
Comply with federal and state laws, State Board of Education rule and Board policy.
Student Management 20.
Ensure that students are adequately supervised during non-instructional periods.
21.
Help to develop a student discipline management system that results in positive student behavior.
22.
Ensure that school rules are uniformly observed and that student discipline is appropriate and equitable.
23.
Conduct conferences on student and school issues with parents, students and teachers.
Professional Growth and Development 24.
Participate in professional development to improve skills related to job assignment.
School/Community Relations 25.
Articulate the school's mission to community and solicit its support in realizing mission.
26.
Demonstrate awareness of school-community needs and initiate activities to meet those needs.
27.
Use appropriate and effective techniques to encourage community and parent involvement.
Other 28.
Maintains confidentiality of information.
29.
Reports to work on time every day.
30.
Performs additional duties and accepts other responsibilities as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: - Thorough understanding of school operations - Knowledge and understanding of school administrative operations - Working knowledge of curriculum and instruction - Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to coordinate campus support operations - Valid Texas Drivers License with a driving record that meets the requirements of the District ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ While all applications will be reviewed, not all applicants will be interviewed.
