*REQUISITION NUMBER: 56401-1* *JOB ANNOUNCEMENT * *AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM SPECIALIST * *Anson Jones Middle School * *Adult & Community Education Department * *CLOSING DATE: Open Until Filled* *JOB DESCRIPTION * The After School Program Specialist, under the direction of an After School Coordinator, is responsible for the coordination, planning, and implementation of Northside Learning Tree/Club LT after school programs at elementary and/or middle school campuses.
_*\* The hiring and continuation of this position is contingent upon the award and availability of the 21st Century Community Learning Centers Grant.
*_ _*Salary appropriations are anticipated to be available for through July 1, 2026.
*_ *MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * *(Only those persons who meet the minimum qualifications as posted should apply) * * Bachelor's Degree * Experience in leadership and implementation of after school programs, summer camps, or programs for youth * Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience required, with out of school time experience, preferred * Bilingual - English and Spanish (preferred) * Excellent payroll and budgeting skills * Superior interpersonal, oral/written communication, time management, and organization skills * Advanced skills in computer applications and data reporting * Ability to travel District-wide by personal vehicle * Able to work frequent evening and some weekend hours * CPR and First Aid certified or ability to become certified within 30 days of employment * Must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting check prior to starting employment; non-refundable fee paid by candidate *DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * 1.
Serves as instructional leader of after school and summer camp programs.
2.
Serves as liaison to school faculty, staff, and parents 3.
Effectively markets and promotes the Learning Tree program and mission.
4.
Executes payroll, budgeting and enrollment duties in an organized and timely manner.
5.
Responsible for detailed weekly and monthly data collection and reporting.
6.
Identifies, trains, and supervises program staff.
7.
Public speaking to include the creation and delivery of multiple trainings and presentations.
8.
Assists in writing, coordinating, and ensuring delivery of academic, enrichment, and recreational activities to ensure the development of all youth through comprehensive and age-appropriate lesson planning and social-emotional development, when needed.
9.
Facilitates parental and family involvement to ensure academic success of participating children.
10.
Performs other duties assigned within the scope of responsibility and requirements of the job.
*SPECIAL EDUCATION * 11.
May assist students with special needs with feeding, diapering, toileting, hygiene, lifting, positioning, transferring to and from wheelchair.
12.
May provide assistance to students using crisis intervention techniques and other behavior modification procedures.
*WORKING CONDITIONS * Maintain emotional control under stress.
Daily attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of the job.

*Frequent District-wide travel; typical work hours 9:30 am to 6:30 pm with possible prolonged and irregular hours, including some Saturdays and evenings.

00 - 70,176.
