Job Description Position Title: Instructor - Non Certified Position Type: Salaried $35,000 / Exempt Position Hours: Full-time; Monday – Friday; 40 Hours per Week Reports to: Campus Principal Length of Term/Employment: 190 workdays / At-will Position Mission: Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.
Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
Position Minimum Qualifications: Hold at least a bachelor’s degree.
Demonstrate competency in their core academic subject area.
Must believe fully in the mission and vision of Jubilee Academies.
Dedication to making the visual arts accessible and meaningful to each student.
Receptiveness to feedback and a desire to continuously improve.
A strong sense of personal accountability for student achievement.
Required experience: Art classroom teaching experience.
Duties and Responsibilities: Work collaboratively with classroom teacher to successfully implement integrated instruction.
Demonstrate an understanding of technology and curricular integration as it relates to art.
Instruct students in the elements and principles of design through disciplines such as drawing, painting and sculpture.
Encourage student creativity.
Create exhibits of student artwork.
Assess needs of students and evaluate student achievement.
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of learners of all ability levels.
Be committed to working with a diverse student population.
Create and utilize alternative assessment tools.
Implement curriculum and utilize classroom routines and procedures with consistency.
Collaborate in grade level teams to discuss student work, share best practices, and ensure student progress.
Form and maintain relationships with students’ families, including phone calls and conferences.
Participate in on-going professional development in the spirit of continuous improvement.
Designing or selecting appropriate instructional modifications for gifted students and coordinating these activities with other teachers as appropriate.
Cooperating with school personnel in coordinating gifted services within that school.
Participating on evaluation teams for gifted students as appropriate.
Developing and conducting necessary in service programs to inform basic education classroom teachers of the goals and objectives of the gifted program where appropriate.
Communication: Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, directors, and teachers.
Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
Professional Growth and Development: Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
Other: Work week schedule: Work day begins at 7:30 a.
m.
Adheres to staff dress code.
Arrive at first morning class 15 minutes before class bell.
Maintains a good working relationship with JAC staff and parents.
Actively participates in two school committees, and will chair one committee.
Working Conditions: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress.
Frequent and prolonged standing.
Stooping, bending, pulling and pushing required.
Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment and supplies.
