RESUME MUST BE SUBMITTED WITH APPLICATION Extended-Year Campus (Larkspur, Jackson-Keller, and Serna Elementary Only) The Extended-Year Calendar offers 180 instructional days and runs through the end of June with Intersession Breaks (days off) built into the calendar every few weeks.
Intersession Breaks are designed for students to receive tutoring and academic enrichment.

All salary ranges are adopted annually by the Board of Trustees.
The District ensures salary placement for new hires will be based on verified years of experience according to the Commissioner's Rules on Creditable Years of Service .
These ranges should not be used to project salary amounts for subsequent years.
In addition, teachers and librarians may qualify for the following stipends: Advanced Degree Stipends Performance and Other Supplemental Stipends Bilingual & ESL Stipends **IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING CALCULATION OF PAY: The annual pay for this position is pro-rated based on the effective date of the assignment** EDUCATION : Bachelors Degree CERTIFICATION : Valid Texas Teaching Certificate by the State Board for Educator Certification with Bilingual Endorsements High School Diplomas and college/university degrees must be obtained from an accredited program or university approved by the United States Department of Education and the Texas Education Agency.
PRIMARY PURPOSE SUMMARY : Responsible for creating a classroom environment favorable to learning and personal growth of every student; establish effective rapport with students; provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth; and to establish good relationships with parents and other staff members.
Enable students to develop competencies and skills to become a responsible citizen and function successfully in society.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.
Develops and implements lesson plans that fulfill the requirements in student learning styles.
2.
Translates material as necessary for instruction.
3.
Presents subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency, Board Policies and Administrative Regulations.
4.
Plans and uses appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflects understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned.
5.
Conducts assessment of student learning styles and uses results to plan instructional activities.
6.
Works with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives and methods according to District requirements.
7.
Uses technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
8.
Helps students analyze and improve study methods and habits.
9.
Conducts ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
10.
Assumes responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned - Sponsors outside activities approved by the campus principal.
11.
Be a positive role model for students and support mission of North East Independent School District.
12.
Creates classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social and emotional development of students.
13.
Manages student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
14.
Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
15.
Assists in selection of books, equipment and other instructional materials.
16.
Establishes and maintains openness of communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals and teachers.
17.
Maintains a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents and community members.
18.
Uses effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
19.
Participates in staff development activities to improve job related skills.
20.
Successfully completes all professional development training within established timelines as required by the Texas Education Agency and the District.
21.
Keeps informed of and complies with state, District, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
22.
Compiles, maintains and files all reports, records and other required documents.
23.
Attends and participates in faculty meetings and serves on staff committees as required.
24.
Maintains confidentiality of information.
25.
Reports to work on time every day.
26.
Performs additional duties and accepts other responsibilities as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: • Knowledge of subjects assigned • General knowledge of curriculum and instruction • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of child growth and development • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of second language acquisition • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of various bilingual education models • Demonstrated ability to communicate fluently and effectively in English and Spanish, both orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary • Effective instructional strategies, classroom management, and language acquisition assessment related to learning and children needing to learn English and Spanish • Ability to develop student learning goals • Ability to adjust and be flexible to a multitude of situations as they occur • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors • Valid Texas Drivers License with driving record that meets the requirements of the District • Valid Class "B" Texas Drivers License (Commercial) with a driving record that meets the requirements of the District - Employee must meet the standards set by the Texas Education Agency, Department of Transportation and the Texas Department of Public Safety (This requirement is for those teachers assigned supplemental duties that require transporting students in District vehicles) Application to a specific job opening does not guarantee an individual will maintain this assignment permanently upon employment.
