Job Family Group: Faculty Time Type: Full time Department/Office: Engineering Science (Farzan Aminian) Exemption Status: United States of America (Exempt) Job Description: Trinity University’s Department of Engineering Science invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in chemical engineering, beginning at the start of the fall semester of 2024.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for teaching and mentoring undergraduate students, and present a strong plan for developing an active research program in chemical engineering or a related field, e.
g.
bioengineering or biotechnology.
Teaching responsibilities will support the chemical engineering and design aspects of the Department’s curriculum, as well as the University’s general curriculum.

Trinity’s undergraduate engineering science program is ranked 29th nationally among 230 engineering schools whose highest degree is a bachelor’s or master’s degree by U.

Trinity’s engineering program features a multidisciplinary curriculum with a focus on engineering design and the development of students’ communication, and interpersonal and leadership skills.
Ten full-time faculty, each with a Ph.
D.
(four EEs, two ChemEs, and four MEs), teach all engineering courses and laboratories for approximately 160 total engineering students in an ABET-accredited program.
Faculty are involved in scholarly work individually, in collaboration with other faculty in the Department and the University, and/or with outside companies and organizations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provide effective instruction of undergraduate chemical engineering and design courses.
Contribute instruction to support the University’s general curriculum.
Conduct academic advising and mentoring of undergraduate students.
Develop and maintain significant scholarly productivity as evidenced typically by papers in refereed journals and conferences, with involvement of undergraduate students as appropriate.
Provide service to the University including participation on Department and University committees.
Provide service to the profession including participation in professional societies and supporting student professional development.
EDUCATION Required: B.
S.
and Ph.
D.
degrees in chemical engineering or equivalent.
