Assistant Professor/Clinical - Pediatrics Child Abuse

Child Abuse Pediatrician The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Child Abuse Pediatrics in Joe R.
& Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio is recruiting for an academic faculty position as Assistant or Associate Professor/Clinical to fill a full-time Child Abuse Pediatrics faculty position.
Qualified candidates should either have passed the Child Abuse examination or have passed the General Pediatrics Board exam, and successfully completed a Child abuse Fellowship.
The selected candidate will join a division of 3 child abuse pediatricians and a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner and will be responsible for evaluating children and adolescents who are suspected victims of abuse and /or neglect, including inpatient and outpatient assessments as well as case consultations, with some travel anticipated for testimony.
The selected candidate will work with experienced professional staff at the Center for Miracles at CHRISTUS Children’s and will have the opportunity to participate as a co-investigator in a statewide forensic assessment center network.
We serve a diverse patient population from throughout South Texas and have excellent collaborative relationships with our multi-disciplinary partners, particularly Child Protective Services.
Our fellowship was accredited in 2011 and is an integral component of our division.
In 2023, we received accreditation as a Level 1 Trauma-informed facility.
