Pediatric Dentistry - Open Rank (Assistant, Associate, Professor)
The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA) School of Dentistry, the Department of Developmental Dentistry, Pediatric Division is seeking an individual to fulfill a new faculty position of Open Rank (Assistant, Associate, Professor).
This position will be an Assistant Program Director for Pediatric Dentistry.
Description: The Advanced Education Program in Pediatric Dentistry offers the advanced student a balanced curriculum in both didactic and clinical areas.
Particular emphasis is placed on hospital dentistry, conscious sedation, interceptive orthodontics and special patient care.
The program is administered by the Department of Pediatric Dentistry and is approved and accredited by the ADA Council of Dental Education.
Upon successful completion of all requirements, the student is awarded a Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry and meets the advanced education eligibility requirements of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
Duties: Duties for this position include didactic and clinical teaching in the graduate Pediatric Dentistry and pre-doctoral programs.
Will assist the Program Director with the supervision of Pediatric Dentistry residents in the clinical setting.
Will also help train interns and provide long-term continuity to service and duties important to the departmental teaching mission by developing, revising, and implementing curriculum based on best practices.
Qualifications: The successful candidate must have a DDS or DMD degree, have completed an ADA accredited advanced educational program in Pediatric Dentistry, be eligible or certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and be eligible for a Texas Dental License.
