*The Special Education Teaching Assistant will:*
* Serve students with disabilities in the general education and special education resource classrooms at the academy: help with assignments, manage behavior, etc.
* Support students' emotional, behavioral, and academic needs in all instructional settings under the direction of and in collaboration with the certified Special Education teachers and General Education teachers.
* Additional duties may be included, depending on the experience and expertise of the candidate and the specific academy needs.

*Qualifications:*
* Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred
* Valid Educational Aide level I, II, or III certification in the state of Texas preferred
* Knowledge of upper school subject area(s) preferred (math, reading, science, history)
*Experience:*
* Experience working with students
* A documented history of working well with children in a 1:1 or small group setting
* A documented history of working well with students with disabilities preferred
* Work experience as a teacher, teaching assistant, or aide in a school serving K-12th grade students preferred
*Special Knowledge/Skills:*
* Ability to work with children with disabilities
* Ability to help students access our rigorous curriculum
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Knowledge of general office equipment
