*PRIMARY PURPOSE:* Direct and manage assigned areas instructional program and campus operations.
Oversee assigned student activities and services.
*ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: *
* Assist the school principal in the overall administration of instructional program and campus level operations; coordinate assigned student activities and services.
* Manage the use of school facilities and supervise maintenance of these facilities to ensure a safe, clean, and orderly campus.
* Ensure that school rules are uniformly observed and that student discipline is appropriate and equitable in accordance with the student Code of Conduct and the student handbook.
* Conduct conferences about school issues with parents, students, and staff.
* Demonstrate professional, ethical, and responsible behavior; serve as a role model for all campus staff.
* Promote the mission and vision of the school.
* Provide instructional leadership.
* Communicate and promote high expectations for staff and student performance.
* Assist with the supervision of specific departments’ initiatives.
* Assist in the professional development of staff.
* Supervise students on campus, before school and after school, and at lunch.
* Assume responsibility for specific job functions as assigned by the campus principal.
* Participate in the development and evaluation of educational programs.
* Promote a positive, caring climate for learning.
* Communicate effectively with students and staff.
* Participate in the development of campus improvement plans with staff, parents, and community members.
* Serve as campus liaison with law enforcement agencies.
* Observe employee performance, record observations, and conduct evaluation conferences.
* Assist the principal in interviewing, selecting, and orienting new staff.
* Supervise operations in the principal’s absence.
* Help plan daily school activities by participating in the development of class schedules, teacher assignments, and extracurricular activity schedules.
* Supervise reporting and monitoring of student attendance and work with attendance clerk on follow-up investigations.
* Work with the department head/lead teachers and faculty to compile annual budget requests based on documented program needs.
* Assist with safety inspections and safety drill practice activities.
* Coordinate transportation, custodial, cafeteria, and other support services.
* Coordinate DAEP placements with student services.
* Ensure that students are adequately supervised during non-instructional periods.
* Help to develop a student discipline management system that results in positive student behavior.
* Ensure that school rules are uniformly observed and that student discipline is appropriate and equitable.
* Conduct conferences on student and school issues with parents, students, and teachers.
* Articulate the school’s mission to the community and solicit its support in realizing the mission.
* Use appropriate and effective techniques to encourage community and parent involvement.
* Adhere to the district safety policies and procedures.
* Must be able to perform the essential functions of walking and interacting with students and/or district employees in the specific worksite assigned (classroom or office setting).
* Demonstrate regular and prompt attendance.
* Share supervisory responsibility for professional staff with school principal; supervise Assistant Principals, teachers, custodians, paraprofessionals, and clerical personnel, and others as assigned.
* Other duties as assigned.

*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:* *Education/Certification:*
Master’s degree
Texas Principal’s certificate or the other appropriate Texas certificate
Certified Professional Development and Appraisal System (PDAS) appraiser
*Special Knowledge/Skills:*
Prior teaching and administrative experience
Strong communication skills, both oral and written
East Central experience preferred
