*JOB SUMMARY: *Performs moderately complex work advising students from connection to entry.
Responsible for implementing enrollment and retention strategies and achievement of student learning outcomes.
May provide services for special populations.
ESSENTIAL
*JOB FUNCTIONS: *
• Provides advising to students and groups from connection to entry and provides an introduction to career/pathway exploration including AlamoINSTITUTES.
Provides referral services for students.
• Represent colleges in recruitment and community outreach and activities (e.
g.
, College Connection, recruitment events, TACRAO, etc.
).
• Provides introductions to the college’s academic programs to include Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, Associate of Arts in Teaching, Associates of Applied Science and certificates.
• Provides enrollment coaching to traditional and non-traditional student populations.
• Compiles and analyzes data to inform strategic direction and action to effect enrollment.
• Supports daily operational duties (e.
g.
, support of student success and enrollment strategic initiatives, etc.
).
• Leads special projects.
May be responsible for one or more special projects in support of student success.
• Provides outreach, recruitment and onboarding services including financial aid and scholarship guidance and assistance.
• Assists with planning and implementation of new student orientation.
• Communicates internally and externally with students, partners, and stakeholders by email, phone, Chat, F2F, Direct Mail and Web.
• Evaluates and interprets high school and college transcripts and test scores; may proctor assessment exams.
• Serves as an official liaison between students, staff, faculty and administrators; assesses and coordinates services and streamlines processes in a changing environment.
• Supervises work study students and assists in the training of new employees.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
*MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: *
• Bachelor's degree or a combination of relevant experience, education and training that equates to the required degree.
• Two years of related experience, preferably in a college setting.
*PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:*
• Four years of related experience.
*LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: *
• Must complete enrollment management certification within 12 months of hire.
• Must be certified in key competencies annually as defined by Student Success leadership.
*KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: *
• Knowledge of student characteristics, campus/college programs, and services available to special populations.
• Knowledge of programs and focus areas in the AlamoINSTITUTES.
• Skill in using a personal computer and associated software programs.
• Skill in communication and team building across all areas of the college.
• Ability to prepare/present programs to groups from various backgrounds.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to supervise, train and evaluate staff.
• Ability to meet work schedules, work independently, follow established procedures and regulations, and use discretion and judgment.
• Ability to represent the college effectively in a variety of district and community settings.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, faculty, and the public.
• Ability to use online student records management systems (e.
g.
, GPS, Banner, etc.
).
• Ability to interpret and articulate assessment/test results for appropriate Pathway placement.
• Ability to multi-task and work under conditions of high stress and high volume during peak periods.
