Summary
Under general direction, is responsible for supporting activities and programs for Bexar County Employee Wellness, and perform related duties as required.
Duties and Responsibilities
Serves as an expert on all wellness programs and other materials relating to Bexar County Wellness
Monitors The Employee Wellness Center, including maintaining the fitness class schedules, equipment maintenance, and any other related facility arrangements needed
Responds to inquiries from employees on any areas pertaining the Bexar County Wellness
Communicates with other departments, administrators, employees, and vendors for the purpose of providing information and assistance concerning any Bexar County Wellness concentrations
Assists in compiling statistical summaries of program data to ensure proper detailed program evaluation and development
Supports implementation of all wellness events, including presenting on a variety of wellness topics
Organizes the records and distribution of incentives to qualifying Bexar County Employees
Identifies, educates, and recruits participants for Bexar County Employee Wellness Programs
Uses approved resources and identifies strategies that promote healthy behaviors and personal development among program participants
Recruits and engages wellness champions to strengthen programming efforts
Assists in coordinating with County offices, and outside vendors to establish program objectives
Performs other duties as required
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate’s Degree in Associate’s degree in Health Sciences, or a closely related filed, and two (2) years’ experience in health and wellness or a similar field environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Must have basic knowledge of health and wellness terminology, gym procedures, and office procedures
Must have skills in organizing and prioritizing multiple projects; ability to meet changing job conditions; ability to make presentations; ability to schedule and coordinate meetings
Must have skills in communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing; skill in utilizing windows-based word processing, presentations, and spreadsheet software
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, County employees and the general public
Must have and maintain a valid Texas driver’s license, motor vehicle liability insurance and personal injury insurance
Must secure and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearance
Must clear a pre-employment physical and a pre-employment drug screen test
Preferred Qualifications:
English/Spanish Bilingual ability to understand and to make one’s self understood to Spanish speaking individuals
Working Environment and Physical Demands:
Working conditions are in an office/ gym environment and/or telework environment
Occasionally moves items weighing up to 40 pounds
Frequently moves about County Facilities / telework office
Frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, including fitness equipment
Positions self to perform essential functions
Must be able to remain in both a stationary and moving position
Maintains County-issued equipment, software, data and supplies
