Description Schedules and Grades Coordinator Student Information System Department Role Mission As the SIS (Student Information System) Schedules and Grades Coordinator, you will serve as the compliance expert for implementation of the grading policy and be responsible for ensuring accuracy of student schedules and rosters for campuses across the district.
The SIS Schedules and Grades Coordinator is part of the Schedules and Grades team.
The members of this team serve as the compliance experts for implementation of the grading policy, accuracy of student schedules and rosters, auditing of course catalogs/student grades/progress reports/transcripts/report cards within the scope of Student Information Systems for the four States: Texas, Louisiana, Florida, and Ohio.
Location: This is a full-time hybrid (remote/onsite) position based in (Texas/Louisiana/Florida/Arkansas/Ohio) with preference given to candidates who live in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Permian Basin (Midland/Odessa), Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Tarrant County (Fort Worth), or who are willing to relocate.
Travel requirements: Monthly travel, and the position will be a combination of remote and on-site work.
What You’ll Do – Accountabilities: Grade Distribution: 98% of report cards and transcripts distributed on time and accurate.
Implements processes so that campuses report student grades accurately Identifies tasks and timeline to ensure timely preparation of grades Creates professional development sessions and trains SIS Coordinators/Registrars on effective processes to manage student grades Assists Registrars/SIS Coordinators with grades verification process to ensure accuracy Helps troubleshoot transcript issues that arise Monitors accurate credit value and historical grade input for transfer scholars DATA INTEGRITY: 95% data integrity in PowerSchool TX quarterly aligned to selected PEIMS rules.
Develops and oversees processes to ensure that campuses identify and correct errors weekly Implements robust system enhancements, grades and schedules reconciliation processes, and reporting mechanisms to maintain accurate student grades and schedules throughout the academic year Creates and delivers training for SIS Coordinators/Registrars on processes to eliminate errors in grades and schedules Provides grades and schedules guidance to campuses and ensures compliance Monitors student grades and schedules accuracy; advises campuses of anomalies with correction plans Helps drive master and student schedule creation (including summer school schedules) by partnering with Schools Team, Directors of College Counseling, and Principals CUSTOMER SERVICE: 95% average customer satisfaction is achieved in IDEA Texas as measured by ZenDesk.
Communicates with school staff, administrators, and outside agencies resolve issues regarding SIS data and directives Contributes, internally and with district partners, to a growing culture of analytics to ensure campus, regional, and national staff can troubleshoot and find root causes behind gaps and provide meaningful interventions Responds to Zendesk issues escalated by campuses, including transcript tickets BOY PREPAREDNESS: 99.
5% of student schedules complete and accurate by the FDOS.
Ensures 100% of course catalogs and master schedules are completed by the beginning of year deadline Ensures 100% of schools have a complete schedule one week before the first day of school Ensures 100% of students’ rosters and gradebooks are ready by one week before the first day of school What You Bring – Competencies: Knowledge and Skills Experience with student information systems (PowerSchool, Focus, JCampus, DocumentLOK, TREx, and various other state databases) Experience with TX high school transcripts required Knowledge of K-12 student schedules, grades, and courses Proficient of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel Experience conducting research and understanding of data-based principals and data analysis Efficient and effective in managing multiple and meeting deadlines simultaneously Excellent organizational and project management skills Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) Ability to multitask and troubleshoot Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members in the district and with staff in other districts Required experience Education: Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred Experience: A minimum of three years in student information systems or similar role with a record of results (scheduling and grades related experience preferred) What We Offer: Compensation & Benefits: Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $25.
28/hour and $31.
60/hour, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity.
This role is also eligible for performance pay based on organizational performance and goal attainment.
