Description: Mission: Seton Home works to break the cycle of abuse and poverty by providing a caring home, education, and support services necessary to transform the lives of pregnant and parenting teen mothers and their children.

Workdays: Monday thru FridayLocation: 1115 Mission Road, San Antonio, TX 78210 Summary: The Education Aide is to ensure all clients’ educational and vocational needs are met.
Will enroll clients in school, facilitate vocational program, plan and facilitate summer school, assist teacher with educational instruction, and provide education case management.
Provide supervision to UC mothers and their children.
Position Responsibilities: *Meet with residents to develop education goals and to complete educational attainment plans.
*Meet with assigned clients on a monthly basis to review education plan, progress, and identify remaining needs.
*Enroll clients in school by completing registration packets and necessary documentation.
*Meet with residents to administer pre and post educational assessment.
*Maintain academic records, case files, and Kaleidacare/ UC Portal entries on all UC clients (the academic records are to include school attendance, Educational Attainment Plans, Pre and Post Educational Assessment, Education Notes, grades, withdrawal forms, measurements and monthly progress notes).
*Attend school daily to supervise residents and assist teacher with classroom instruction.
Serve as a liaison between the school and the UC program and its clients.
Assist with on-site summer school organization.
As a Seton Home employee, attendance and successful completion of a 10-day New Employee Orientation is mandated for the position.
The inability to meet this requirement will conclude employment with the Agency.
Other duties as assigned by Director, Senior Director or Vice President.
Competencies: Adaptability Developing Other Results Oriented Teamwork Thorough Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: Education Bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences, human services, child development or social service fields or related fields preferred.
Minimum High School Diploma or GED Experience Preferred 2 years’ experience within an academic, social service, or child-care agency.
Minimum of 1-year employment experience within an academic, social service, or child-care agency.
License and Credentials Reliable transportation.
Valid driver license.
Valid vehicle insurance.
Submit to a state and federal background check, Child abuse and neglect registry check, and Tuberculosis screening.
Be physically, mentally, and emotionally capable of performing assigned tasks and have the skills necessary to perform essential duties and responsibilities.
Able to show proof of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases transmitted by the respiratory route if working directly with unaccompanied children.
Varicella: two doses of varicella vaccine (at least 4 weeks apart) OR born in the United States before 1980 with a reported history of chickenpox (verified by an adult present at the time of illness) OR titers indicating varicella immunity OR documentation from healthcare provider verifying previous infection.
MMR: two doses of MMR vaccine (at least 4 weeks apart) OR titers indicating immunity to all three diseases.
DTaP or DTap: Complete primary vaccination series.
If primary vaccination series completed in childhood, one DTaP dose in adulthood.
Influenza: one dose annually during flu season.
Minimum Knowledge and Skills: Working knowledge of TDFPS Minimum Standards, and Office of Refugee Resettlement- Division of Unaccompanied Children's Services National Care Standards.
Possess therapeutic sensitivity to the service population cultural and socio-economic characteristics.
Experience with computer software and MS Office (i.
e.
MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and OneDrive).
Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team.
Must have good written and verbal skills.
Must have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
*Bilingual: Fluent in English/Spanish with regards to reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension of the spoken language Travel Requirements: Travel requirements for the position includes 10% local and 10% overnight.
