ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Verifies eligibility of testing candidates; communicates test procedures and rules; monitors candidates and resolves conflicts during testing to ensure a secure and quiet testing environment; reports any technical problems or academic dishonesty occurring during test sessions to appropriate levels.
Administer entrance and placement exams, including Wonderlic, Student Questionnaires, TEAS, and Aviation Assessments.
Prompt attendance is essential; employees must arrive on time every day.
Position involves primarily desk-bound responsibilities, requiring employees to remain stationed at their desks for the duration of their shifts.
Assists students with entrance and placement exam options.
Troubleshoots exams.
Manages/administers/proctors and schedules certification exams provided by Pearson VUE, EC-Council, ATI, and CLEP.
Oversee and teach SmartStart technical orientation and online enrollment orientation.
Sustains database of test scores on the HU Portal and Colleague UI, updates necessary spreadsheets, certification rates, announcements, and prints certificates.
Manages inventory of exams and supplies, checks test booklets, supplement book condition at the beginning and end of each test session.
Responsible for passwords, physical and virtual record security, and software updates.
Trains proctors when needed and maintains confidentiality and security of exam questions and testing candidate information.
When required and necessary, notify the University President, Provost, Executive Chief of Staff, Department Chairs, and Deans of test results and any third-party or compliance inspection results.
Maintains cleanliness and organization in designated areas.
Additional duties assigned.
PROFESSIONAL/PUBLIC ACTIVITIES: Continued education, certifications, and knowledge base enhanced training and skill sets.
Remain current in the policies, procedures, and new testing opportunities.
Must participate in the Hallmark Character Education Program.
KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ABILITIES: Ability to pass Pearson Vue, FAA Exams, CLEP, and ATI certification exams, and any other exams added to the testing catalog.
Complete training for entrance and placement exams.
Understand Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) guidelines.
Computer and systems applications skills.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (particularly in Excel).
Excellent oral, presentation, and written communication skills.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: PREFERRED: Experience administering/proctoring standardized exams.
Experience and certification in proctoring standardized exams.
Associate degree from an accredited college/university (preferably IT/Business related).
REQUIRED: Experience working in an office setting or proctoring position.
Must pass a comprehensive background check to include a TSA/FBI background check and must be able to obtain an FAA badge for related duties at a satellite campus.
