Responsibilities:
- Create and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards
- Provide instruction to students in various subjects, including but not limited to math, science, language arts, and social studies
- Utilize effective classroom management techniques to maintain a positive and productive learning environment
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the individual needs of students, including those with special education requirements
- Incorporate innovative and engaging teaching strategies to promote student participation and understanding
- Assess student progress through various forms of evaluation, such as tests, quizzes, and projects
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student performance and progress
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff members to enhance the overall educational experience for students
Skills:
- Strong classroom management skills to effectively maintain discipline and order in the classroom
- Knowledge of special education strategies and techniques for working with students with diverse learning needs
- Experience in ballet or dance instruction is a plus, but not required
- Ability to educate and tutor students in a variety of subjects, adapting teaching methods as needed
- Proficient in behavior management techniques to address challenging student behaviors
- Sewing skills may be beneficial for certain teaching positions, such as home economics or fashion design
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues
- Experience working with children and a passion for education
