This position will serve the Department of Information Systems & Cyber Security (IS&CS) within the Carlos Alvarez College of Business.
The IS&CS department is home to several undergraduate degrees, including a BBA in Cyber Security, a BBA in Information Systems, and a BS in Applied Cyber Analytics at the undergraduate level.
We have over 35 full-time faculty and 35 part-time faculty teaching approximately 100 courses and serving over 2,400 students.
The BBA Cyber Security is UTSA's flagship cybersecurity undergraduate degree certified by the National Security Agency and Department of Homeland Security through their Centers for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense education program.

Essential Functions Full-time fixed term track faculty (3-year renewable contract).
Hired person will teach four courses per long semester (fall/spring 16 week semesters).
Summer instruction is optional, but usually available for supplemental pay (contract is for fall/spring instruction only).
Courses selected for teaching will be based on hired person's expertise and department needs, however will likely focus on introductory and advanced cybersecurity topics (e.
g.
unlocking cyber, network security, intrusion detection and incident response, attack and defend, malware analysis etc.
), telecommunications and networking, digital/mobile forensics, database management, cloud computing, machine learning and data/cyber analytics.
Department and college service (e.
g.
committee work) The successful candidate must have the ability to work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of first generation and low-income students and be committed to assisting the University's commitment to thrive as a Hispanic Serving Institution.
Required Qualifications: Master's degree or higher in Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field and at least 2-3 years of teaching and/or work experience in areas of instruction.
Preferred Qualifications: Doctoral degree in Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field is highly preferred to meet our accreditation requirements.

Working Conditions Applicant must be located in, or willing to relocate to the San Antonio metropolitan area, as these positions require teaching primarily in-person classes on our main campus and downtown campus.
