Location: San Antonio, TX Regular/Temporary: Regular Job ID: 11055 Full/Part Time: Full Time Position Information The Department of Economics at the University of Texas at San Antonio's Alvarez College of Business invites applications for a tenure-track/tenured position in Economics at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor for Fall 2024.

Department The Department of Economics is a collegial group consisting of ten tenured and tenure-track faculty members and offers undergraduate and specialized masters degrees in economics.
The department has research strengths in empirical microeconomics and applied microeconomic theory and plans to continue developing in these areas.

Position Summary The position is open to individuals with research interests in health economics and policy, including healthcare markets design and performance.
Qualifications Candidates should have a Ph.
D.
in Economics (or a related area) by the employment start date.
Candidates who are expected to complete all requirements for the Ph.
D.
by August 2024 will also be considered.
Candidates at the rank of Assistant Professor should demonstrate a strong potential for publishing in top field or general-interest economics journals.
Candidates at the rank of Associate Professor should have a substantial record of publications in journals and periodicals of the highest quality and currently be engaged in an active research program in the field.
Candidates should have effective teaching experience, ideally evidenced by student feedback, or otherwise demonstrate potential for success at teaching organized courses.
The successful candidate will also be expected to pursue research grants in health economics or policy, to seek collaborative opportunities across disciplines related to health, to develop courses in their research field at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and to participate in departmental service activities.
Candidates should have good verbal and written communication skills, and the ability and desire to work collegially with faculty, staff, and students towards the advancement of the department's strategic goals.
The successful candidate must have the ability to work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of first generation and low-income students and be committed to assisting the University's commitment to thrive as a Hispanic Serving Institution.
