Job Summary Under general direction, is responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and analyzing contracts with outside agencies and vendors.
Under the direction of the Department Head formulates contract provisions and performance requirements.
Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment.
Exercises no supervision.

; Monday - Friday Essential Job Functions Prepares contracts, reviews contract provisions, and monitors contract compliance.
Formulates and coordinates the procurement of bids and proposals.
Determines the necessity for amendments or extensions of existing contracts.
Reviews charges assessed by contractors and vendors in the performance of services.
Prepares written reports for management review.
Reviews contract performance requirements for completeness and accuracy.
Consults with management regarding contracts, departmental issues, problems, and related matters.
Serves as a liaison to ensure contract fulfillment obligations.
May take part in negotiations, terminations, and re-negotiations of contracts.
May conduct site and monitoring visits.
May assist department in preparing audit responses and resolutions to audit reports from external and internal entities.
Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
Job Requirements Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
Two (2) years of contract preparation and monitoring experience.
Preferred Qualifications Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License OR valid driver's license from another state with the ability to obtain a valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Skilled in the use of SAP R/3.
Experience with the meeting industry and its contracts.
Knowledge of City contracting policies, processes, and procedures.

Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job.
One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months.
One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.
Applicants selected for employment with the City of San Antonio in this position must receive satisfactory results from pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
If required for the position, a physical, motor vehicle record evaluation, and additional background checks may be conducted.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of contract negotiation procedures and techniques.
Knowledge of contract administration procedures.
Knowledge of procedures and techniques used in developing contracts.
Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
Knowledge of procedures and methods used to develop lease agreements.
Knowledge of legal terminology used in contracts and lease agreements.
Skill in utilizing a personal computer and associated software programs.
Ability to operate a computer keyboard and other basic office equipment.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Ability to develop written reports and presentations.
