social-event colleague

Retired/older guy seeking a volunteer's assistance (and/or seeking to become a volunteer).
Because, many senior persons: I.
Are more likely to attend a preferred event and/or function if they will be doing it jointly with someone they know and trust.
And/or: II.
They are no longer able to rely upon their longtime, event-attending partner.
