Estimator

Employment Status: Full-Time FLSA: Exempt Reports To: Construction Manager The project estimator is charged with maintaining the pricing and takeoff procedures for all jobs.
The duties include all necessary steps to accomplish accurate takeoffs and setup procedures.

Coordinate pricing options for jobs with all vendors.
Using quoting software, input material and plan information to produce job estimates.
Use public bid boards to actively look for work to bid.
Deliver complete and correct job setup sheets to field supervisors.
Monitor and assist in the design of plans by Beyer Mechanical.
Maintain and manage an updated pricing list of all materials used by Beyer Mechanical’s construction department.
Monitor material and labor costs of all jobs.
Maintain the Quote Soft estimation program.
Provide value engineering pricing for Sales Department.
Coordinate shop drawing as needed.
Assist with invoicing problems from vendors.
Assist with certificates of insurance and W-9 for subcontractors.
Provide total customer satisfaction with every construction project.
Deliver quality job information sheets and drawings for design build projects.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.
Independent judgment and initiative to take any action deemed necessary to carry out responsibilities, consulting with the President if a decision will have a major impact on the financial wellbeing of the company.
Self-motivated, good organization skills, and ability to work without close supervision.
Demonstrate diplomacy and effectiveness with both customers, field supervisors, sales department, and vendors.
Have an understanding of the importance of continuous training and skill enhancement for themselves and others.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blue prints, and specification books.
Minimum Requirements High school diploma.
Computer literate.
