Heavy Equipment Operator

*Key Roles / Responsibilities*: * Operates heavy equipment of various sizes and weights used in excavation and site construction.
* Properly follows company safety procedures.
Brings problems to the attention of the foreman, superintendent, safety director or HR manager.
* Performs routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refers defects or needed repairs to the supervisor; cleans equipment.
* Utilizes flare gun.
* Tech Savy * Lead and direct crew as needed.
*Minimum Qualifications:* * Must have at least 3-5 years recent experience in construction as a heavy equipment operator.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

* High School diploma or equivalent, preferred.
*Preferred Qualifications:* * Excavator experience OR * Dozer experience OR * Roller experience OR * Motor Grader experience *Working Conditions*: * Able to work under stressful conditions at times.
* Bending, lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling, kneeling, sitting, walking, kneeling, stooping, squatting, crouching, crawling, talking, hearing, seeing, and standing (occasionally) for long periods of time.
* Employee is required to accomplish hard physical labor in many different conditions including lifting equipment.
* Must demonstrate manual dexterity and be able to use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
* The essential duties of this position require moderate to heavy lifting.
* Exerting up to 100 pounds of force- Occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force- Frequently, up to 20 pounds of force- Constantly moving objects.
* Exposure to moderate noise levels, vibrations, and bright lights.
* Normal physical strength and fitness to handle conditions consistent with crude trucking field operations.
* Exposure to all climate types: hot and cold temperatures, humidity, rain, snow, etc.
* Able to wear common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection and hard hats when needed.
* Activities may involve being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes, and gases.
* Will involve shift work and overtime.

Job Type: Full-time Pay: Up to $20.
