Job Summary:
The Landscape Designer and Estimator role will encompass the responsibilities of an estimator while integrating on-site consultation, sales, and landscape design for residential landscape construction projects.
This position will be instrumental in understanding client needs, providing conceptual design input, and ensuring accurate project estimates, all while actively participating in the design process.
Essential Functions:
• Work with clients during on-site consultations to understand their needs, preferences, and project scope prior to bidding
• Collaborate with team members to clarify and comprehend project requirements
• Review estimates and revisions for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with client expectations
• Analyze construction documents and understand the scope of work to be bid
• Gather, calculate, and compile all on-site and take-off data to create bid proposal estimates
• Execute on-site take-off bid maintenance documents and input data into the computer
• Perform quantity and cost analysis, incorporating labor estimates and updating pricing from subcontractors
• Create comprehensive job cost estimates with project cost/profit margins for work
• Actively participate in the landscape design process, collaborating with clients to understand their vision and requirements
• Prepare detailed landscape and irrigation design plans, ensuring alignment with client preferences and project goals
• Coordinate the arrangement of existing and proposed land features and structures within the design plans
• Sketch and rough draft conceptual landscape designs, incorporating creative and practical elements
• Prepare graphic representations of proposed plans using computer-aided design software
• Select appropriate materials for use in landscape designs, considering aesthetic, functional, and budgetary considerations
• Collaborate with Account Managers to align project concepts, designs, and estimates with client expectations
• Review estimate for completeness and accuracy from start to finish in a timely manner
• Develop and maintain resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, etc.
• Update and maintain bid schedule on a timely basis
Experience Required:
-1+ years of similar experience in the landscaping, hardscaping, irrigation, or horticulture industry
-1+ years of experience utilizing AutoCAD
