*Safety Coordinator Job Description*
*Job Summary*
The Safety Coordinator is a vital role responsible for upholding a safe and healthy work environment on our construction sites.
This position involves regular safety inspections, hazard identification and mitigation, and ensuring adherence to all safety regulations and company policies.
The Safety Coordinator will collaborate closely with the Safety Manager and other team members to train employees, conduct risk assessments, and manage incident responses.
This role is well-suited for individuals with a robust background in Drywall construction safety, excellent problem-solving skills, and effective communication abilities in both English and Spanish.
*Job Duties & Responsibilities*
· Conduct regular job site safety inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
· Focus on identifying hazardous conditions and implementing immediate corrective actions.
· Report directly to the Safety Manager, providing updates and feedback on safety practices and concerns.
· Advise supervision on corrective and disciplinary actions to maintain a safe working environment.
· Train employees in safe production practices to minimize risk and enhance safety awareness.
· Conduct comprehensive new employee orientations focusing on safety procedures and company policies.
· Create and submit detailed reports in E-compliance regarding safety inspections and incidents.
· Conduct thorough accident investigations to determine causes and develop preventative strategies.
· Arrange medical treatment for job-related injuries, ensuring timely and appropriate care.
· Perform construction site risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
· Including any added responsibilities provided by the Safety Manager.
*Job Qualifications*
*Education:*
· High School diploma, diploma in a skilled trade, or equivalent work experience.
*Experience:*
· Minimum of 2 years’ experience in construction.
· In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and OSHA safety standards.
· Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, with the ability to read, write, and speak both languages.
· Familiarity with safety regulations and company-specific safety policies.
*Skills:*
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
· Willingness to accept additional responsibilities and challenges.
