Position Description: Job Summary The Donor Relationship Specialist at the Children's Bereavement Center of South Texas (CBCST) is a key role responsible for assisting with the advancement of the organization's data-driven fundraising efforts for both operations and the CBCST Foundation.
Reporting directly to the Chief Development Officer, the Donor Relationship Specialist will play a vital role in cultivating and managing relationships with low to mid-level donors while providing support to the CBCST Foundation.
This position will have responsibility for building and implementing integrated communication strategies for CBCST and the CBCST Foundation, ensuring the effective stewardship of donors for CBCST and the Foundation.
The Donor Relationship Specialist will serve as a resource to the CBCST Foundation for marketing materials as well as donor research and prospecting and will provide and maintain requested reports and lists and will ensure all contacts, pledges, gifts, and attachments are appropriately filed.
Job Description ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS: A.
DIRECT RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES Participate in the development and implementation of a comprehensive fundraising strategy targeting a portfolio of low to mid-level donors, aligned with the organization's overall goals.
Under the direction of the CDO, collaborate with CBCST Foundation leadership and perform administrative, research and data tasks specific to the Foundation.
Execute campaigns and initiatives to attract, engage, upgrade, and retain mid-level donors and Foundation prospects/donors through various channels, events, and direct outreach.
Create an annual revenue goal for donors in the portfolio and assist the CDO with annual budget planning in accordance with identified portfolio goals.
Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications Manager on the development and production of all marketing materials for print, digital, and social media channels (e.
g.
annual report, newsletters, web site, email, and brochures) for CBCST and CBCST Foundation.
B.
ADMINISTRATION Utilize fundraising data and analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of strategies and campaigns, making data-driven recommendations for improvement.
Serve as the Centers Salesforce Administrator and main point-of-contact for Salesforce internally and with the Centers external Salesforce consultant.
Ensure the timely entry of all gifts into the database and processing of weekly acknowledgment letters as well as annual year-end tax letters.
Prepare regular reports for the Chief Development Officer, CBCST Foundation Board, and other stakeholders to track fundraising progress.
Attend all relevant CBCST and CBCST Foundation Board committee meetings.

COLLABORATION Work closely with the CDO and the CBCST Foundation team to ensure seamless integration of planned giving fundraising efforts and donor stewardship and provide support in aligning donor activities with the overall goals and strategies of CBCST and the CBCST Foundation.
Work collaboratively with the CDO and the CBCST Foundation team to plan and implement initiatives to identify, cultivate, and secure planned gifts, including bequests, trusts, and other planned giving instruments.
Collaborate with the Special Events Manager on the solicitation of sponsors for Gala and other special events.
EDUCATION/SKILLS/TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE Bachelors degree in business, marketing, communications, public relations, or related field.
5+ years of experience in successful fundraising for nonprofits Demonstrated skills in motivating, directing and managing staff and consultants, and in coordinating and supporting the fundraising activities of others; outstanding interpersonal skills Strong organizational skills Proficiency in Windows, Excel, and other standard desktop software.
Proficiency in Salesforce highly desirable Advanced degree preferred PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
