The Market Specialist position is a front-line market development role.
This is not a traditional retail sales role; the ideal candidate will be able to work in On Premise (70% of the time) and Off Premise (30% of the time) with heavy focus on Hispanic market.
You will be able to educate the key decision makers and the end consumers on the represented brands’ history, features, benefits, and competitive advantages at various retail stores.
By leveraging this education, the Market Specialist will seek to put the clients’ products in the ideal position in the venue and close any existing gaps in distribution.
This while always looking to find relevant sponsorship opportunities and selling price / promotional features or additional shelf / display space.
The candidate must show a high level of ownership for the business and be a self-starter.
You should be willing to act as Brand Ambassador regularly to sample the key products at On Premise and Off Premise locations.
The candidate must be adept at selling win-win solutions that benefit the client’s portfolio and the customer.
The Market Specialist must be efficient with the Microsoft Office suite and be able to use this for communication and reporting.
The Market Specialist will need to be organized and be able to work well alone, while sharing best practices and wins with their leaders, clients, peers, and other departments.
*The Opportunity:* The Market Specialist will ensure the execution of retail strategies in key On Premise and Off Premise stores.
The ability to develop relationships with key decision makers in the accounts is critical to identify and take advantage of Sponsorship opportunities, ensure 100% distribution of all authorized items, merchandising and maintaining the in-store presence of our client’s brands.
*What You’ll Do:* * Retail Execution of the Sales Plan within each retailer in the assigned territory.
* Selling and maintaining distribution of authorized products, New Products and displays in the assigned territory.
* Maintain a high call frequency of calls per cycle, per retailer (+95%) * Develop strong working relationships with retail decision makers and local stakeholders (Local Distributors) that gain customer support of retail objectives.
* Provide merchandising assistance to customers by building displays, negotiating new placements, replenishing permanent secondary displays, negotiating price or promotional features, and using point of sale materials effectively.
* Actively participate in Sampling Events (Brand Ambassador) in On and Off premise venues.
* Product rotation and merchandising to ensure salability of all products in the assigned territory.
* Utilize in the sales conversation all POS, Sales and Authorized Item Tools that are provided.
* Report weekly activity, expenses, competitive activity, account changes, promotions, and all administrative functions within the assigned territory.
* Provide support for clients at assigned trade shows or important events (As per client request) * Miscellaneous duties as assigned by Management.

* Ability to drive moderate distances to make multiple sales calls daily.
* Excellent communication (both written & verbal), planning, and organizational skills and have a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
* Must be able to operate a calculator, computer, printer, fax machine, telephone and copy machine.
* Attention to detail and accuracy is a must.
* Ability to work weekends regularly.
* Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a must.
