POSITION SUMMARY This position will assist in managing the Recognition Programs area of the AFPC contract.
Programs include Special Trophies and Awards; Non-Combat Campaign Credit; Memorialization packages; High Level Decorations; Air Force Unit Awards program; requests for Awards and Decorations from veterans and active duty personnel; and mailing out medals.
Support the organization in its mission to help change lives through the power of work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assist the Manager in training, supporting, reviewing, and motivating team members who evaluate and process requests for awards and decorations from veterans and active duty personnel.
Requests are received through various sources such as congressional offices, the National Personnel Records Center (NPRC), and the Air Force Board of Correction of Military Records (BCMR).
Team Members also process several annual Special Trophies and Awards boards, process requests from retirees for Non-Combat Campaign credit (SF 813), forward Memorialization requests to appropriate approval levels, and send out replacement medals.
Provide additional review of completed responses processed by Recognition Program Associates and monitor and maintain the roster of suspense dates for various programs.
Assign work in the absence of Team Leaders.
Manage the Non-Combat Campaign credit requests.
Provide training on the process; review requests and log cases into tracking database; and assign to Team Members for research and responses.
Review completed work for accuracy and completeness.
Maintain a record of medals distributed and calculate requirements to maintain sufficient inventory.
Place replacement orders through military channels.
Assist in complying with the Records Management program by ensuring scanned files/records are correctly labeled.
Assist in processing, reviewing and helping ensure that Annual Award timelines are met.
Prepare and deliver timely performance appraisals for direct reports, and ensure performance appraisals for assigned work units are completed on time and in a quality manner.
Coordinate with Human Resources to administer rewards and recognition, promotions, transfers, disciplinary actions, or terminations in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Adhere to, and ensure adherence to, all Loss Prevention and inventory control and compliance, risk management, and ethics policies and procedures.
Safeguard donations and all Goodwill property and resources; secure from harm, theft, accidental loss, or disposal.
Promptly investigate or participate in investigations for all reported incidents.
Maintain harmonious working relations between team members.
Ensure team member complaints are promptly addressed, and follow through to resolution.
Provide excellent customer service by greeting, assisting, and responding to questions and/or concerns in a positive, professional, and friendly manner.
REQUIREMENTS Must be a U.
S.
citizen and eligible for a security clearance.
Associate’s degree.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
2+ years of experience utilizing similar skills including supervisory experience.
Previous experience working with military data systems, military personnel records, Air Force/DoD instructions, forms, and regulations preferred.
Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
For positions that require driving, must maintain a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance coverage, and be able to travel as needed if you drive your vehicle during company business.
