Today the Cavender name is associated with 8 separate dealership facilities selling Buick GMC, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Jaguar Land Rover, and Ford and Nissan brands.
The Slogan “Where the name Cavender is on the door, there is a Cavender on the floor.
” Certainly applies today.
Each Cavender acts as not only the dealer, but general manager as well.
It is not unusual to be greeted by one of the Cavender's in the showroom or on the service drive.

*JOB DESCRIPTION* *Department:* Parts *Job Title:* Shop Counter Sales *Function:* To provide quick and accurate parts and service and information to our shop personnel.
*Responsibilities:* * Major requirement: Study and know your parts catalogs.
Memorize and utilize general group information so you can move immediately to the area covering your mechanics needs.
For instance: 0 engine, 3 fuel and exhaust, 4 brakes, 11 seats, etc.
* Obtain all information on the car being serviced.
Do not “assume” or accept a “guess” option.
* Write legibly or print all parts requisitions completing all necessary information.
Charge all items immediately and accurately.
write down the part number the moment the item is brought to the counter.
It is easier to delete an item not used than rely on memory to charge at a later time.
* Check all items returned before accepting stock or core value.
Receive and tag legibly and accurately all warranty parts.
Take them to the warranty storage room daily.
* Purchase orders are controlled at this counter.
Know the person requesting the purchase order and the correct account number.
* Shop supplies will be purchased and issued at this counter.
Equipment and supplies will be charged out as authorized.
* Study all bulletins and consult with technicians and supervisors about new items for stock.
* Lunch hour and duties will be staggered in order to keep a man on duty at all times.
This assures a better level of service to our shop.
Do not leave your counter unattended! * Take pride in your area and your appearance.
*Relationships:* Reports directly to: Parts Manager *Supervises:* None *Accountability:* Give immediate, courteous, accurate service to all areas of shop needs.
Liaison between parts department and company operation *Physical requirements and conditions:* This position requires considerable walking, standing, stooping, bending, twisting, and possible lifting of up to 50 pounds.
