JOB SUMMARY
The bookstore associate will provide customer service in the CBC bookstore, keep count of products and supplies, ensure that the stores inventory remains balanced, and provide support to maintain the overall presence of the store.
Tasks include cashier, restocking supplies, assisting in maintaining inventory records with the help of inventory software, and providing general support to the Bookstore Manager as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Answer emails and phone calls
Communicate and update volunteer schedules
Operate the stores POS system
Count store inventory for official records
Maintain log of products and supplies
Check actual store inventory against computerized records
Report any discrepancies in inventory records to store manager
Receive store deliveries, assist in unpacking inventory, organize inventory, restock inventory on sales floor as necessary, update files and inventory receipts
Use software to track orders, returns and supply
Track any overstock or missing items
Ensure stock room is clean and well organized
Move and restructure stock room as needed for new inventory
Assist in cleaning and organizing the Store upon closing
Pulls defective items for return and shipping
Submits orders for replenishment of inventory
Retrieves products from stock room for customers as necessary
Reviews shipping and receiving documents for accuracy
Assists customers on the sales floor in locating items
Assists store manager in devising new ways to reduce shrink and maintain inventory control
Perform heavy lifting
Other duties as assigned

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a regular part-time position (24-29 hrs.
) Weekends are required for this role.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to do the following:
Must have good or corrected vision as well as effective peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Must have good manual dexterity and be able to use repetitive motion of the hands, wrists, and arms
Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time
Must be able to move about inside the office and file rooms to perform a variety of tasks
Must be able to frequently and effectively communicate in both written and verbal form
Must be able to frequently lift 15 pounds and/or push/pull objects up to 50 pounds
Occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, bending, and crouching
Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED
1-2 years retail and customer service experience
Inventory control experience
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Duties are performed in an office setting where the work and general environment may be hectic at times.
Therefore, it is essential that the employee can effectively handle the normal anxieties associated with the job and manage multiple projects in a service-oriented environment.
Environmental noise levels are minimal.
