Details👇
Memphis A-2, Black, Rosewood Fretboard.
Probably made in Korea in the late 70s to early 80s.
Sort of a mesh of a Stratocaster body with a Les Paul neck.
A run of the mill 80s beater guitar.
The wiring was a mess when I got it.
Many solder joints were broken and the wires were really thin, so I rewired it with heavier gauge wire and an output jack from an Epiphone.
Before and after photos are shown.
I also replaced the original tuners with some off an old Epi Les Paul Special.
The pickup sounds pretty good.
I’ve seen many listings claiming it is a Bill Lawrence L500, but I’m not certain.
I have seen some that look just like it that have sold online, though.
NOTICE: There are three frets (10th, 11th, and 12th) that have lifted and need to be reglued.
See photos.
The frets have been polished to a mirror finish.
The fretboard has been cleaned, conditioned, and treated with lemon oil.
Set up with new D‘Addario strings (.
10-.
46) Low action and the intonation is spot on.
You can try before you buy with my portable amp.
