Job Description:
Summary: The Security Specialist’s primary function is to provide multi-disciplined security support to the 688th CW/IP facility, organization and contractor sponsored locations.
The position will provide “day-to-day” support for Collateral, and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) activities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintaining continuous positive control over all media entered in to and removed from the SCIF
Performing classification reviews of inbound and outbound correspondence
Processing inbound and outbound classified mail and receipt records
Maintaining document control/accountability database and associated correspondence
Processing magnetic media for accountability
Performing destruction of classified materials
Providing reproduction support for classified material
Supporting Top Secret Control Officer with accountable material
Preparing and/or processing inbound and outbound classified mail, faxes, courier packages and receipts
Processing, filing, researching, and maintaining inbound and outbound visit notices
Escorting facility visitors and maintaining associated logs
Maintaining various daily logs for a variety of administrative security functions
Maintaining an extensive customer database point of contact listing
Performing data entry to the Joint Personnel Access Security System/DISS database and maintain customer sponsored billets and quota information
Maintaining personnel security files for all personnel of the supported element
Assisting in development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)/Operating Instructions (OI)
Developing and maintaining Security Education Training and Awareness (SETA) program
Performing miscellaneous administrative support functions as directed by the Government Security Representative
Reviewing, tracking, and monitoring security clearance processing activities with appropriate government personnel to achieve appropriate clearance actions
Participating in Air Force SCI and SAP security compliance inspections of government organizations and industry
Performing data entry and record checks in the Joint Access Database (JADE) and maintaining sponsored personnel access information current
Performing indoctrinations and debriefings as directed by the Government Security Representative
Required Skills (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):
Must be familiar with security policy/manuals and the appropriate ICDs/DOD Manuals and other guiding policy documents
Must have the ability to work in a dynamic environment and effectively interact with numerous DOD, military/civilian personnel and industry partners
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
Possess a high degree of originality, creativity, initiative requiring minimal supervision
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (4 years).
3 to 5 years related experience
Must complete the DoD SAPCO approved SAPNP training (if performing personnel security functions).
Security Requirements:
Current TOP SECRET Clearance with SCI Eligibility
Eligibility for access to Special Access Program Information
Willingness to submit to a Counterintelligence polygraph
Physical Requirements: This position requires employees to be willing and able to: sit, bend, reach, stoop, squat, stand, and walk.
Communication: Excellent customer service via phone and face to face conversation, excellent written and oral command of English.
