The Patient Service Representative/Authorization Specialist is responsible for administrative duties in a rehabilitation clinic with 1 to 12 Providers.
Coordinates office services and related activities.
Follows set programs for the maximum utilization of services and equipment.
Must have knowledge of general health care issues, trends and quality management.
Responsible for scheduling for the clinic, monitoring clinic numbers, generating and interpreting daily and weekly productivity reports.
Responsible for work processes of the department as well as daily operations.
Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period.
Other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School Diploma or Equivalent GED
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Associate degree from an accredited school or college.
Graduate of an Accredited Medical Assisting Program and/or a Certified Medical Assistant
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 2 years of medical office experience or have completed an externship with Healthlink in lieu of 2 years of medical experience.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 4 years medical office experience
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Certified Medical Assistant
REQUIRED COURSES/ COMPLETIONS (e.

, CPR): BLS-obtained through approved American Heart Association Training Center or the Military Training Network.
