Summary Under direction, is responsible for the direction, management of the Bexar County ReCAST Grant a five year grant, $1,000,000 per year beginning in 2021/2026.
The position will report to the Office of Criminal Justice Director, facilitate and lead a multi-disciplinary, multi-agency collaborative focus on resilience and trauma informed care.
Will plan, organize, manage, participate in and direct the work of the project including the development, successful implementation, and quality control aspects of the Bexar Count ReCAST grant.
Grant Funded Duties and Responsibilities Act as primary liaison with SAMHSA’s Government Project Officer (GPO) for the ReCAST grant Responsible for the oversight and execution of the Bexar County ReCAST Strategic Plan and for ensuring that the goals and objectives of the Plan are met Lead the project management efforts for the grant Responsible for oversight and management of ReCAST contracts, including oversight of contractor personnel activities and performance Formalize and ensure compliance of work processes of the Bexar County ReCAST team and the ReCAST coalition, including clear role definition, communication, decision-making and approval Lead with ReCAST Project Director and Bexar County ReCAST community coalition.
Conduct outreach and engagement to recruit and retain new stakeholders and members.
Ensure ReCAST coalition is being continuously engaged to enable them to provide guidance and leadership on all grant activities Represent the program at community meetings, communicating the Bexar County ReCAST program’s goals and activities Coordinate with ReCAST Project Director on how the project aligns with other community initiatives to prevent redundancy, promote collaboration, and leverage resources Coordinate extensively with the Technical Assistance Liaison, through the GPO, to assist the ReCAST team, community coalition and the community in achieving project goals Coordinate with the Evaluator to ensure necessary data is collected and analyzed.
Ensure that all grant performance to include SAMHSA’s Performance Accountability and Reporting System (SPARs) and evaluation reports are submitted in a timely manner and are of high quality Performs related duties as required Minimum Qualifications Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Public Policy, Human Services, and Public Health preferred.
Four (4) years of experience in public administration, management, or project coordination that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Other related education or relevant experience also considered Experience managing grants; experience in relationship building, and working effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Experience with coalition work and/or collective impact work considered a plus.
Must have skill in operating standard word processing and spreadsheet software; logical problem solving; writing; database management; and analyzing and preparing reports Applied knowledge and understanding of violence prevention, positive youth development, community trauma and trauma-informed practices, and its impact on young people within the community Ability to identify needs and recommend solutions; ability to organize in a logical manner; ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, County employees, vendors, and outside agencies; ability to compile and analyze data for reports; ability to analyze reports and create strategic and tactical plans; and ability to develop, organize, motivate, and effectively work with staff.

Communication is primarily in person, via telephone or through written correspondence Must have valid Texas driver's license, motor vehicle liability insurance and personal injury insurance; or have a self-reliant source of transportation to conduct business on a daily basis Must secure and maintain a favorable background investigation Must clear a pre-employment physical and a pre-employment drug screen test Required to be on call 24 hours May be required to work more than 40 hours during the workweek May be required to work weekends Working Environment and Physical Demands Constantly working in indoor conditions Required to work in jail environment with frequent exposure to hostile people and infectious diseases Occasionally moves items weighing up to 10-15 pounds Occasionally moves about the office Frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery Positions self to perform essential functions Supplemental Information Workstations with internet access are available, if needed, to view job postings and apply online at 211 S Flores, San Antonio, TX 78204, 8am – 5pm, Monday through Friday.
