Come be a part of what makes us so special! The Opportunity The AML Compliance Risk Manager Lead will support all AML Compliance teams across the Enterprise and are accountable for design, governance, execution, oversight, and reporting.
The team provides second-line independent oversight and guidance regarding business products, services, and processes through a compliance framework to ensure they are implemented in accordance with regulatory requirements.
In partnership with the business and key partners, continuously drives a strong culture of compliance and demonstrates integrity and professional judgment in protecting the interests of USAA and its members.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week.
This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Tampa, FL or Charlotte, NC.
Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
What you'll do: Anticipates and identifies future needs, opportunities, and potential compliance solutions, and leads cross-functional teams through the problem resolution process.
Assesses results of data analyses, provides credible challenge, and recommends innovative compliance solutions.
Develops, designs, and delivers compliance strategies to influence business leadership on effective solutions and may represent leadership on complex issues.
Maintains and expands expert knowledge of the competitive/regulatory landscape and the company's key challenges.
May coordinate and respond to regulatory requirements and requests and ensures the execution of examinations.
Drives compliance risk management activities in accordance with enterprise compliance standards.
Serves as the technical guide regarding compliance laws and regulations and provides direction to others on complex issues.
What you have: Bachelor’s degree required, or 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required in lieu of degree (12 years total in lieu of degree).
8 or more years relevant experience in compliance, risk, legal or audit within the financial services or insurance industry.
Demonstrated experience working in a highly regulated environment.
Expert knowledge of relevant industry regulations and regulatory compliance in a specific area.
Advanced knowledge of compliance laws, regulations, and regulatory expectations.
Proven track record of applying advanced knowledge of regulatory compliance to consult and provide insight and guidance.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels of management.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
What sets you apart: Experience at a large financial institution implementing and maintaining enterprise-wide AML compliance risk management programs, that guide adherence to regulatory requirements and expectations.
Prior experience developing and driving second line of defense activities, programs, policies, procedures, governance, and oversight risk gaps, and reporting with increasing levels of responsibility.
Strong (oral and written) communication with partners/executive leadership to provide effective reporting on compliance risk matters, including the ability to indirectly influence others outside your department.
Proficient with Excel, SharePoint, and Tableau.
Proven experience testing report cover assessments, metrics, and holistic view of programs aspects and requirements.
Certified Regulatory Compliance certification (CRCM) or Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or Certified Financial Crimes Specialist (CFCS).
