Summary Responsible for identifying, researching, processing, filing and recording Department case files.
Responsible for record management of Department files to include, filing, record storage and retrieval, copying and transport of files to an offsite storage facility.
Responsible for responding, recording, processing and completing inquires and/or request for information from Department cases.
Responsible for conducting quality assurance on the Department cases in the case management systems updating and comparing to the system.
Responsible for operating a multi-line telephone, routing calls accordingly, greets visitors to facility and directing them to appropriate locations.
Responsible for processing Department files in accordance with court orders.
Responsible for making copies of Department cases as requested.
Assists unit staff as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for identifying, researching, processing, filing and recording Department case files Responsible for record management of Department files to include, filing, record storage and retrieval, copying and transport of files to an offsite storage facility Responsible for responding, recording, processing and completing inquires and/or request for information from Department cases Responsible for conducting quality assurance on the Department cases in the case management systems updating and comparing to the system Responsible for operating a multi-line telephone, routing calls accordingly, greets visitors to facility and directing them to appropriate locations Responsible for processing Department files in accordance with court orders Responsible for making copies of Department cases as requested Assists unit staff as needed Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED equivalent May be required to work more than 40 hours during the workweek Must have a valid Texas driver's license or available alternate means of transportation Must secure and maintain a favorable background investigation Must complete a pre-employment physical and a pre-employment drug screen test Must be able to work in a warehouse environment Must have good knowledge of basic office and secretarial practices and procedures; knowledge of English spelling, grammar and punctuation; knowledge of alphabetical and numeric filing; knowledge of word processing, database or spreadsheet software packages; and knowledge of basic bookkeeping practices, word processing, spreadsheet software, switchboard/ multi- line phone and other computer applications utilized by the department Must have skills in operating a computer, typewriter and basic office equipment; and skill in reading and interpreting legal documents Must have ability to accurately enter data and file information; ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other County employees, and the general public; ability to type quickly and accurately; ability to manage time effectively; ability to handle difficult clients; ability to compile, read; and ability to perform basic mathematical calculations; and ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to sort and organize files/documents in alphabetical order and number series This is a non-supervisory position.
Employee receives direct supervision when performing the essential functions.
Well-defined procedures are used when completing work assignments.
Job has limited impact on work unit operations Judgment is required in selecting appropriate established guidelines to follow and employee uses limited discretion to complete work assignments.
Initiative is required to complete work assignments.

Working conditions in a warehouse environment have frequent exposure to excessive dust and weather/temperature extremes.
