Job Responsibilities
Answer multi line computerized telephone system and provide information to callers; route calls to appropriate person
Maintain inventory / supplies and related receiving processes
Assist funeral directors with funeral activity including processing the necessary paperwork and scheduling
Input all appropriate data into specialized funeral service computer program.
Copy, scan and File correspondence and other records, keep filing system current
Prepare obituary notices and send the the appropriate newspapers
Use specialized programs to create and customize stationary products
Prepare legal documents including death certificates , Social Security forms, Flag applications, Veterans forms and other related documents
Be knowledgeable of all programs/services offered by the funeral home
Administrator Qualifications
Must possess high school diploma or equivalent education with emphasis on business related courses.
Ability to work a flexible schedule as required for completion of assigned responsibilities.
Must be proficient in the use of various Microsoft Office applications
Must be skilled/proficient in written and oral communications, typing, data entry, and personal computer
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Some post high school courses and experience in a related position
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
Ability to perceive depth and field of vision.
Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly in order to move objects.
Ability to communicate by means of the spoken word both face to face and over the telephone.
Ability to operate a computer keyboard by whatever means.
