This brass tray comes designed with a letter opener and was finely executed in India.
No doubt it graced the entrance table of some abbey or maison.
Reminiscent of Downton Abbey? Cared for in style by the hired help to place the daily mail, messages, notes, etc.
Shiny, in excellent condition but shows some wear.
Oval in shape measuring 9” x 6,” and handsomely tooled with the opener ending in an artistically created pineapple, an ages old expression of welcome, friendship, hospitality and warmth.
