**2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR OPENING** RESUME MUST BE SUBMITTED WITH APPLICATION Location: Madison (Ag Science) Work Schedule: 12 Months Work Type: Regular Full-Time Exempt: Yes REASONS TO JOIN NEISD TEACHER/LIBRARIAN COMPENSATION : Salaries for new classroom teachers and librarians are based on the salary ranges below (10-month work schedule) Minimum 0 Years 5 Years 10 Years 15 years 20 Years Max 25 Years $57,000 $58,600 $60,550 $62,350 $64,650 $66,400 In accordance with House Bill 3, the ranges above include additional compensation for classroom teachers with more than five (5) years of experience.
All salary ranges are adopted annually by the Board of Trustees.
The District ensures salary placement for new hires will be based on verified years of experience according to the Commissioner's Rules on Creditable Years of Service .
These ranges should not be used to project salary amounts for subsequent years.
In addition, teachers and librarians may qualify for the following stipends: Advanced Degree Stipends Performance and Other Supplemental Stipends Bilingual & ESL Stipends **IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING CALCULATION OF PAY: The annual pay for this position is pro-rated based on the effective date of the assignment** EDUCATION : Bachelors Degree Experience in teaching courses in the Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources cluster Experience with Agriculture Experience Tracker (AET) Record Keeping System CERTIFICATION : Valid Texas Teaching Certificate by the State Board in Agriculture Science High School Diplomas and college/university degrees must be obtained from an accredited program or university approved by the United States Department of Education and the Texas Education Agency.
PRIMARY PURPOSE SUMMARY : Responsible for creating a classroom environment favorable to learning and personal growth of every student; establish effective rapport with students; provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth; and to establish good relationships with parents and other staff members.
Enable students to develop competencies and skills to become a responsible citizen and function successfully in society.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.
Develops and implements lesson plans that fulfill the requirements in student learning styles within the career cluster of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources.
2.
Plans and uses appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials and equipment that reflects understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned.
3.
Conducts assessment of student learning styles and uses results to plan instructional activities.
4.
Works cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students according to guidelines established in Individual Education Plans (IEP).
5.
Conducts ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
6.
Creates classroom and laboratory environments conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social and emotional development of students.
7.
Manages student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
8.
Establishes and maintains openness of communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals and teachers.
9.
Keeps informed of and complies with state, district and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
10.
Serves as a FFA Advisor overseeing student involvement and success in Leadership Development Events, Career Development Events, Degrees and Awards, and supervision of Supervised Agriculture Experience Programs.
11.
Develops and maintains relationships with business and industry partners to support the Agriscience Magnet Program.
12.
Demonstrates fiscal responsibility in the management of Student Activity Funds (SAF).
13.
Collaborates with the current agriculture staff and faculty to develop a robust year round Program of Activities (POA).
14.
Manages and maintains an inventory of equipment and supplies in order to deliver rigorous and relevant instruction.
15.
Prepares students to obtain certifications and licensures needed for industry employment.
16.
Continues to seek professional development to stay current with emerging technologies.
17.
Maintains confidentiality of information.
18.
Reports to work on time every day.
19.
Operates a school district and/or personal vehicle in the performance of assigned tasks, when needed.
20.
Performs additional duties and accepts other responsibilities as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: • Knowledge of subjects assigned • General knowledge of curriculum and instruction • Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior • Ability to adjust and be flexible to a multitude of situations as they occur • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems • Ability to concentrate, interpret policy and procedures, reason, understand verbal instructions, analyze, differentiate, memorize, read, coordinate, compile, compute, instruct, and maintain emotional control • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills • Valid Texas Drivers License with driving record that meets the requirements of the District • Valid Class "C" Texas Drivers License with a driving record that meets the requirements of the District - Employee must meet the standards set by the Texas Education Agency, Department of Transportation and the Texas Department of Public Safety (This requirement is for those teachers assigned supplemental duties that require transporting students in District vehicles) Application to a specific job opening does not guarantee an individual will maintain this assignment permanently upon employment.
