The Position:
The Senior Vice President, Clinical Services will serve as a physician executive leader whose task is to champion clinical quality & safety, patient satisfaction, efficiency and access and to partner with senior leadership across University Health to continue to strengthen and grow clinical programs.
In collaboration with University Health leadership, senior management teams and the Medical-Dental Staff, this individual will lead efforts to achieve University Health’s goals for quality, patient safety, and clinical and operational outcomes.
Management responsibilities include consulting with and advising senior members of University Health and direct interaction with the Medical-Dental staff on matters regarding physician practice patterns, utilization of resources, medical necessity, accreditation, compliance rules and regulations, collaboration and relationships with payers and the community, and clinical documentation improvement.
The Senior Vice President, Clinical Services also leads clinical initiatives, including new program development and ensures that University Health maximizes quality & safety, patient satisfaction, efficiency and access in an environment that promotes continuous quality improvement in all aspects of service to its patients, staff, and community.
The Senior Vice President, Clinical Services is a physician serving as a key member of the University Health’s leadership team charged with meeting the goals of the Triple Aim-Plus.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Medical degree required.
Must have current board certification from the American Board of Medical Specialties.
Masters degree with formal education in medical management, business administration, or public health preferred.
A minimum of ten (10) years clinical practice experience in direct patient care.
Experience in hospital quality, patient safety, clinical outcomes, infection control and prevention, risk management, accreditation, utilization management, managed care contracting, and managed care reimbursement policies preferred.
Prior leadership experience or directorship roles with hospitals, physician groups, or academic medical centers, preferred.
LICENSURE/CREDENTIALING
Must possess current active and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Texas.
Valid and unrestricted Federal/State registration to prescribe, dispense and administer controlled substances.
Must maintain DEA and DPS registration.
Qualified as a provider under Medicare or Medicaid programs.
Must maintain appropriate credentialing and active privileges within the University Health and Community Medicine Associates.
Must follow rules/regulations as set forth by the Texas Medical Board Medical Practice Act.
