Middle School History Teacher

Responsibilities:
1.
Curriculum Development:
· Develop and implement a comprehensive history curriculum that aligns with state standards and integrates Christian worldview principles.
· Design engaging lessons, activities, and projects that foster critical thinking, inquiry, and historical literacy among middle school students.
· Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, resources, and technology to meet the diverse learning needs of students and promote active learning.

Classroom Instruction:
· Create a positive and supportive classroom environment where students feel valued, respected, and encouraged to participate actively in their learning.
· Deliver dynamic and interactive history lessons that stimulate curiosity, empathy, and a deeper understanding of historical events, people, and cultures.
· Facilitate discussions, debates, and simulations that encourage students to explore different perspectives and develop their own informed opinions.

Spiritual Integration:
· Integrate biblical principles and Christian worldview perspectives into the teaching of history, helping students understand the providential hand of God throughout human history.
· Encourage students to critically examine historical events and themes through the lens of faith, discerning God's purposes and lessons for their lives.
· Model Christian character and values in all interactions with students, colleagues, and parents, demonstrating love, grace, and humility.

Student Assessment and Feedback:
· Assess student learning using a variety of formative and summative assessment strategies, including quizzes, tests, projects, and presentations.
· Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their academic growth and development.
· Collaborate with colleagues and parents to address individual student needs and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Professional Development:
· Stay informed about current trends, research, and best practices in history education through ongoing professional development opportunities.
· Collaborate with colleagues to share resources, ideas, and instructional strategies for enhancing history instruction.
· Reflect on teaching practices and seek opportunities for self-improvement and growth as an educator.
Qualifications:
* A committed Christian with a strong personal faith and a passion for integrating faith and learning.
* Bachelor’s or master’s degree in history, Social Studies, or Education (Master's preferred).
* Teaching certification or licensure in history or middle school education.
* Previous teaching experience at the middle school level, preferably in a Christian school setting.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
* Knowledge of effective instructional strategies for teaching history to middle school students.
* Willingness to support and uphold the mission, vision, and values of The Christian School at Castle Hills
