Freight / logistics office clerk.
Olympic Transport is seeking an experienced clerk in transportation for the San Antonio, TX area, with experience in the logistics industry.
We are currently looking for an office clerk to join our dynamic team.
Our environment is fast paced and high energy much like a transportation office.
The job occupant will preform the daily operations, including taking orders, building shipments, dispatching trucks, and handling customer demands.
This person will also be involved in prospecting for new customers and maintaining positive customer/carrier relations.
We are looking for a leader with positive energy and problem-solving skills to be part of our team.
Must be extremely detail oriented with the ability to multitask.
Essential duties and responsibilities: Ability to coordinate logistics for our transportation company, handle sales calls, emails and type orders, review operations daily and implement changes as needed.
Generate new business opportunities through prospecting calls.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers and carriers.
Interpret documents such as freight contracts.
Organizes and maintains file system, files correspondence and other records.
Ensure all customers' files are updated and current.
Ability to work under pressure and multitask while maintaining close attention to detail.
Perform special projects as needed.
Requirements: experience in shipping management of logistics, and transportation industry preferred.
Excellent organizational, administrative, problem solving abilities.
Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communications.
Strong work ethic with the ability to learn and grow with the job.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to work in a team environment, while also delivering independent results.
Any 3PL freight experience highly desirable.
Bi-Lingual in English and Spanish preferred.
