Position: IT Help Desk - Internship
Department: Managed Network Services
Reports To: IT Service Manager
Salary grade: Hourly/ Non-Exempt

Description
The IT Help Desk Intern will assist in the day-to-day tasks and operations of the Managed Network Services Department.
This individual will be involved with basic service ticket response, onsite support, and project work for clients.
The intern will report to the IT Department Supervisor and assist in any of the System Engineer team’s daily activities.
Responsibilities
Assist with Project Work for New or Current Customers – workstation installation, router/switch networking, installing agents and antivirus, patch & update management.
Assist with Server Projects – Analyze server infrastructure, consult on network design, and assist in deployment, migration, networking, testing, and virtualization.
Assist with service calls for current customer base – server, workstation, switch, router, end-user and other basic troubleshooting.
Customer Service – the ability to interface with end-users, listen to concerns/problems & see them through to resolution.
Time Management – Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle stress well & offer flexibility.
Experience & Related Skills
Natural Inclination toward building, “playing with”, or trying out new technology is highly sought after
Any experience with HelpDesk or customer service is highly sought after
Education and Certification
Candidate pursuing a degree in Information Systems or Information Technology is recommended
Any form of CompTIA (A+, Network+, Security+, Server+, Storage+) is a plus
Physical Requirement
Manual dexterity to operate computer equipment
Frequent standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods of time.
Visual acuity to read printed and electronic documents
Ability to communicate clearing in-person, via phone, and email
Special Requirements
Must be able to work in San Antonio for the summer
