Qualifications for Toddler Teacher
- 2 years' teaching experience in a licensed child care facility
- Valid CPR/First Aid certification
- Pass a criminal background check
- Teacher Assistant must have HS Diploma and willingness to obtain CDA within one year of employment
- Understanding of Minimum Standards and Texas Rising Star program
Responsibilities
* Provide an attractive, clean and well-kept classroom that encourages creativity, exploration, and decision-making by the children
* Observes all rules and regulations pertaining to the health, safety, and care of children
* Maintains a professional personal appearance, attitude, and work behavior at all times
* Positive and patient demeanor
* Establish positive relationships with students, co-workers and families
* Greet each person warmly during drop off and pick up
* Maintain confidentiality with information shared to parents or guardians
* Provide interactive supervision on the playground
* Create a safe, cheerful and stimulating classroom environment that allows for individual and group activities
* Assist children in personal care needs to include diapering, potty training, feeding, clothing, comforting and preparing for nap.
* Plan and carry out a curriculum that meets the Texas Rising Star program standards.
* Address any concerns that may arise with parents in a tactful and professional manner.
* Seek professional growth and development; participate in a minimum of 30 hours of annual childcare training.
* Crouch to child’s height, maintain eye contact at child’s level and sit on the floor with children for extended periods on a regular basis.
