Position Description
Saint Mary?s Hall anticipates hiring a part time Extended Care Assistant for the 2024-2025 school year.
In addition to submitting a r?sum?, applicants will interview with Saint Mary?s Hall administrators.
The Mission of Saint Mary?s Hall is to prepare students for success in college and fulfillment in life.
Essential Functions:
Responsibilities to the General Community:
? Assist students in learning to play with respect and responsibility and model proper behavior and play
? Clean and store of materials after completion of activities
? Assist with conducting an inventory of materials and supplies to ensure they are in good working order and or available for use
? Reinforce all knowledge and skills taught by the teachers of Saint Mary?s Hall
? Assist with preparing and serving daily snacks for students
? Follow student allergy and dietary needs in a confidential manner
? Assist the Director of Extended Care by recording attendance and evaluating and documenting student behavior and activities
? Communicate parent requests to the Director of Extended Care in a timely manner.
? Refer all parent concerns and queries to the Director of Extended Care related to student performance and or behavior
? Interact with various individuals such as classroom teachers, administrators, staff, parent volunteers, etc.
? Escort students to other areas on campus while monitoring student behavior
? Coordinate and/or participate in special programs or projects as assigned
? Keep abreast of state standards of before and after school care
? Attend trainings, workshops, etc.
as appropriate to enhance job knowledge and skills
? Perform routine clerical tasks and related duties as required
? Communicate effectively with the Director of Extended Care and colleagues
? Work in Extended Care in accordance with pre-determined hours
Additional Responsibilities:
? Care for and maintain of an orderly environment and clean Extended Care materials
? Partner with the Director of Extended Care to ensure the safety and physical well-being of the students at all times
? Collaborate with a team of other Assistants and the Director of Extended Care to ensure a warm, caring, safe environment consistent with Saint Mary?s Hall core values and mission statement
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
? Able to effectively communicate information which includes receiving assignments and/or directions from supervisors and giving instruction and/or assignments to students
Qualifications:
? High School diploma
? Experience in an after-school environment
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
? Work in a fast-paced environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts
? May work at a desk and computer for extended periods
? Must be able to teach, instruct, and communicate with students, parents, coworkers, visitors, and other professionals in the English language
? Work primarily in a traditional climate-controlled classroom environment
? Work intermittently in outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold
