Job Overview The Quality Child Care Matters (QCCM) Coach works with the Director of QCCM to provide a menu of services and support to family child care providers, including direct implementation of the QCCM program, coaching, technical assistance, training and peer support.
The QCCM Coach is responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere at all times for AVANCE internal employees and AVANCE external program participants.
Job Responsibilities The QCCM Coach systematically collects and analyzes data as the basis for decision making for program improvement to accomplish the following: Execute AVANCE’s QCCM program, including: o Providing direct implementation of QCCM curriculum to family child care providers, as needed o Providing ongoing technical assistance to partner organizations licensing the QCCM curriculum through both in-person and virtual settings o Organizing and leading implementation planning with QCCM licensees o Providing in-person training to QCCM licensees using the Trainer of Trainers (ToT) Curriculum o Supporting QCCM licensees with recruiting efforts, focusing on identifying pools of both licensed and unlicensed family child care providers o Keeping detailed records of all interactions with QCCM licensees o Providing coaching to QCCM staff that supports individual and program growth o Visiting QCCM sites to conduct assessments and offer one-on-one program support, such as curriculum planning, model lessons, mentoring, coaching, guided practice and feedback, goal setting, and other support as needed o Leading collaborative sessions with QCCM licensees to gather feedback, support innovation, and encourage peer support Ensure a culture of continuous improvement & user-centered focus: o Continuously improving the QCCM curriculum and network services based on data from licensees, needs of local providers, and national research o Managing data collection, analysis, and evaluation o Implementing data-informed decision-making to support training strategies and to make program improvements o Problem-solving and collaborating with providers to design responsive strategies o Reporting on QCCM program activities and key performance indicators o Become a certified TECPDS trainer, and work to ensure that AVANCE becomes a certified training organization Communicate with leadership on programmatic status, updates and any concerns regarding the implementation of the QCCM program Participate in assigned meetings, events and training as required Performs other duties as assigned AVANCE Core Competencies Accountability The AVANCE Way Demonstrates Ability to Learn Fosters Innovation Takes Initiative Recovers from Setbacks Education Required: o Associate Degree in Education or related field Preferred: o Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field License/Certification Required: o Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle Preferred: o TECPDS trainer Work Experience Required: o At least three (3) years of experience training, mentoring and coaching teachers or adult learners o At least two (2) years of experience working in or with childcare centers o Experience with Texas Rising Star, Texas Child Care Licensing or other equivalent standards Preferred: o Experience with curriculum writing Additional Skills Bilingual in Spanish and English Independent, self-starter with a positive attitude Strong alignment with AVANCE’s values, especially in meeting our clients where they are and valuing diversity Creative problem solver who embraces change and a culture of excellence Extremely organized Experience with Microsoft 365, MS Office Suite, and Video Conferencing Tools Travel Travel up to 25% of the time for in-person professional development, meetings and site observations.
Equipment Work is generally performed in an office environment.
Noise level in the work environment is moderate to occasionally loud (examples: business office with computers and printers, light to moderate traffic, human voices).
Standard office equipment generally used includes: o Telephone o Personal Computer (monitor, keyboard, and mouse) or Tablet o Printer/Photocopy Machine o Calculator o Fax Machine May be required to operate a motor vehicle during the course of duties.
Working Conditions Mental and Physical Demands Maintain emotional control under stress; work with interruptions and deadlines; walking, standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; occasional: lifting/carrying, pulling/pushing 10-30 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
