*About the Position:*
YWCA San Antonio Childcare Teachers are responsible for assisting in the provision of quality safe care of children enrolled in the YWCA Child Development Center, ages Infant- 12 years, in accordance with Texas Department of Family & Protective Services (TDFPS), Texas Department of Health, Early Head Start, and YWCA Standards.
*Responsibilities will include:*
* Assist in the development and implementation of developmentally appropriate educational curriculum, field trips, guest speakers, and activities
* Follow YWCA personnel policies
* Assist the Child Development Center in complying with TDFPS minimum standards for childcare, Rising Star standards, and all other contract services.
* Supervise the classroom on an ongoing basis to monitor safety, developmentally appropriate activities, and social/emotional, cognitive and physical abilities of children.
* Promote and maintain quality customer service in the classroom and with parents.
* Assist in maintaining of curriculum, paperwork, and files necessary to comply with contract service, federal, state, and municipal funding agencies.
* Assume the duties of floater, substitute, van driver, or general maintenance if needed to maintain quality service.
* Maintain a positive and professional attitude and attire.
* Attend monthly staff meetings and trainings (as required).
* Provide adequate notice to the Childcare Director on time off request.
* Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor which effect program quality, and promotion and support of the YWCA.
* Is the Van Driver for Afterschool Pick-up when the academic school year begins.
*Requirements:*
* High School Diploma (CDA preferred)
* Current CPR/Fist Aid certification
* Experience working with children or 24 hours of pre-service training
* Valid Driver's License
* Must have reliable Transportation
* Bilingual preferred
Job Type: Part-time

* High school or equivalent (Required)
Experience:
* Childcare: 2 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
* Child Development Associate Certification (CDA) (Preferred)
