Job Description and Requirements The Asset Protection Specialist will have the ability to work a hybrid schedule (remote/onsite) after a period of training and performance evaluations (time frame may vary).
Training will take place at the RBFCU Administrative Service Center: 1 Ikea-RBFCU Pkwy, Live Oak, Texas 78233 or Staples Branch: 5253 S.
Staples, Corpus Christi, Texas 78411.
To successfully work from home, employees must have access to a minimum internet connection as noted by RBFCU.
Must have a reliable home internet provider and the ability to hard wire a connection directly to modem (Ethernet cable provided).
Must be able to provide a workspaces at home that is safe, suitable for work, and within a distraction free environment The primary function of the Asset Protection Specialist is to provide quality assistance to members by phone, email, chat and secure message.
Assist departments and branches with questions and perform specialized transactions regarding deposit account charge offs, returned check deposits, and various products and services.
Maintain accurate reporting for 3rd party collection agencies and review collection opportunities for deposit account balances owed.
Responsibilities: Provide professional and quality service to members and non-members and internal employees.
Process or research standard and specialized inquiries and transactions as directed by properly identified members utilizing basic fraud detection techniques.
Maintain a professional disposition while handling difficult member situations.
Maintain basic working knowledge of RBFCU Member Handbook, policy and procedures and topical knowledge for all credit union areas.
Access multiple reporting tools to complete, review, and update account records; ensuring and maintaining data integrity.
Apply critical thinking to identify, research, and correct account discrepancies, errors, and possible trends.
Communicate sensitive information clearly and effectively; educating and assuring callers on a complete process and resolution.
Include appropriate people in decision making, escalating issues as appropriate.
Specialized transactions may include but are not limited to: Handling recovery efforts for negative deposit account charge offs, processing return check deposits, updating 3rd party collection agency reporting, managing client disputes Additionally, provide guidance to branches/departments regarding various products and services Accept responsibility and follow through on commitments.
Comply with applicable regulatory laws pertaining to the credit union and internal policies and procedures.
Conduct all duties in a manner intended to enhance the image of the Credit Union.
Requirements: High School Diploma or GED Six months - one year Financial Institution experience Good attendance and promptness is pertinent Job requires teamwork and dedication to developing strong relationships with coworkers.
