Provide operations support to Powertrain Engineering Division, our vision to be the world leader for innovative powertrain solutions following our mission to benefit government, industry, and the public by delivering clean and efficient transportation technologies.
Objectives of this Role:
Act as Team Powertrains' Human Resources POC / Liaison and partner with SwRI Human Resource departments to ensure division compliance with SwRI's policies and procedures.
Develop strong understanding of SwRI's policies and procedures and become the divisions' subject matter expert on all things SwRI HR.
Handle and direct personnel related matters, exercising strict confidentiality and discretion at all times while addressing complex issues regarding personnel; work closely with division management and SwRI Human Resources to resolve with effective and professional communication.
Maintain and track recruiting data, records of personnel-related data using technology and other business tools.
Conduct division onboarding for new hires.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
Assist division with HR related inquiries and provide assistance on personnel related matters daily.
Collaborate with division managers to handle administrative HR related tasks efficiently and effectively.
Prepare HR related reporting for management meetings monthly and as needed.
Work with Executive Assistant and support Division Administration team as needed, and perform ad-hoc projects as assigned.
Perform regular orientations, onboarding and update employee records.
Regularly support and promote employee engagement activities.
Requirements:
Requires a Bachelors in Human Resources or Business Administration or related
Human Resources degree or coursework preferred.
Certifications related to human resources, administration, or communications are a plus.
0-5 years of related experience
Intermediate to advanced knowledge in using: Microsoft® Office applications - Excel (with Reporting and Database experience), Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Teams.
Additionally, experience with Adobe Acrobat, and cloud-based storage applications.
Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive information.
Must possess willingness and openness to learn and apply new processes.
Must be reliable, accurately follow instructions, and efficiently manage time.
Must have problem solving and decision-making capabilities with a deep understanding of employee relations.
Must be self-motivated, resourceful, and interested in working in a cooperative-team environment.
Strong attention to detail is required.
Knowledge and experience of human resource functions and processes i.
e.
operations, personnel data files, pay, benefits, recruiting, training, etc.
and HR best practices.
Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively, thoroughly examine documents thoroughly and data to understand the issues and requirements, draw conclusions, and independently resolve matters.
Must be a problem solver, adaptable, conceptual thinker with stellar organizational skills; ability to prioritize assignments and tasks
A valid/clear driver's license is required
