Job Summary
Under general supervision, is assigned to a City Department to assist in general administrative and/or research functions for the purpose of developing a working knowledge of a targeted area in municipal government.
Typically has completed some advance course work related to
the internship program.
Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment.
Exercises no supervision.

Essential Job Functions
Learns about area of career interest by observing and assisting professionals in the assigned department where work will be performed.
May assist in the coordination, administration and/or monitoring of specific programs.
May assist with conducting research, collecting and organizing data, performing analyses and preparing reports.
May propose solutions to existing problems and discuss recommendations with administrative personnel.
Assists with special projects as assigned.
Job Requirements
Graduation from high school or a General Education Development (GED)
Certificate.
Must be enrolled in U.
S.
Department of Education accredited
undergraduate degree program.
Preferred Qualifications
Coursework in community/ civic engagement, communications, marketing.
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
Knowledge in Office 365, community engagement, and public administration.

Self-motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Knowledge of statistical analysis.
Skill in operating a personal computer and utilizing rudimentary software.
Ability to operate a computer keyboard and other basic office equipment.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
Ability to create clear and concise reports.
Ability to learn pertinent Federal, State, and local laws and ordinances.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with City staff and the general public.
