General Summary
We are looking for a Payroll Administrator to lead our payroll functions.
The payroll administrator is a member of the Accounting and Finance team.
This position’s most important responsibility will be to ensure that payroll expenses and taxes are paid correctly and on time.
Capitol Aggregates has weekly and monthly payroll processing.
Our ideal candidate is analytical and methodical, with experience in payroll administration and knowledge of payroll regulations.

Principal Duties and Accountabilities (Essential Functions) Processes organization's payroll and compiles payroll data to maintain accurate payroll records.
Processes and analyzes weekly multi-state and monthly executive payrolls, review employee expenses, reconciles general ledger accounts, creates on-going month-end, quarterly, and year-end payroll reports.
Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately, timely and in compliance with external and internal policies or regulations.
Reconcile payroll, deposits, tax withholdings, wage garnishments, and deductions.
Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits.
Oversee garnishment calculations and compliance.
Coordinate time and attendance processing and interface with payroll Process accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary (W-2, W-2c, etc.
) Prepares responses to notices from government agencies regarding employee tax filings.
Reviews and processes payroll adjustments, including vacation, sick, and other time off.
Fields and responds to payroll inquiries and resolves discrepancies as required.
Maintains knowledge of rules and laws which govern the payroll administration practices.
Liaise with payroll audits and oversee payroll tax audits.

Required Skills and Abilities Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations.
Strong PC skills including proficiency in Excel.
Working knowledge of SAP, Kronos, and ADP.

Problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong work ethic and team player.
High degree of professionalism.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
Ability to communicate with various levels of management.
Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.
Education & Experience College degree required (BA/BS in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources or related field) CPP preferred but not required.
4-6 years’ experience processing payroll.
