Description:Reports To: Director of Human Resources FLSA Status: Full-Time, Exempt Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm *Summary:* The Payroll Administrator will manage the full-cycle payroll process for the Archdiocese of San Antonio Pastoral Ministry Center and provide payroll support to the Archdiocese of San Antonio parishes and schools, conduct benefit reconciliation, resolve payroll discrepancies and issues, ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, and pay day laws, and maintain accurate payroll records.
The Payroll Administrator must have a strong understanding of payroll accounting principles and practices, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

* Process payroll for assigned location(s) and reconcile pre-process register with new hire, terminations, deductions, and adjustments.
* Enter payroll deductions in employee payroll file such as wage garnishments, 403(b) deductions, etc.
* Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
* Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices and provide education and guidance to locations.
* Provide support for audits related to payroll and benefits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
* Identify and recommend updates to payroll accounting software, systems, and procedures.
* Conduct monthly reconciliation of payroll and benefit premiums, identifying and resolving issues and making payroll adjustments as needed.
* Develop and conduct training for new bookkeepers and ongoing training for existing bookkeepers on payroll processing and reporting, time & labor, benefit reconciliation and accurate record keeping.
* Develop and maintain professional working relationships with bookkeepers and business managers to engage in proactive solutions to payroll issues.
* Provide payroll support and assistance to parish and school bookkeepers including processing payroll as needed.
* Develop and maintain a schedule for periodic payroll audits of parishes and schools to ensure compliance with federal, and state laws, and Archdiocese of San Antonio policies, and procedures.
* Collaborate with HR Business Partner(s) to ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
* Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
* Process manual check calculations for terminations and prior period understated/overstated earnings and deductions as needed.
* Complete and submit location bank change forms and supporting documentation to Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and other offices as needed.
* Prepare workers compensation report ending each fiscal year for months 5/1, 6/1, and 7/1 and process 941 reporting for annual workers compensation audit.
* Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis and taking precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others.
* Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.
* Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral policy is mandatory.

* Essential Functions - ADA Competencies: Communication, Customer Service, Critical Thinking, Detail Oriented, Integrity, Honesty, Results/Solution Oriented, Resilience *Education and Experience:* * Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field preferred.
* 5 to 7 years’ experience overseeing and processing multi-company payroll.
* Direct experience using Paylocity payroll and benefits platform a plus.
*Minimum Knowledge and Skills:* * Extensive knowledge of payroll functions including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
* Strong understanding of payroll accounting principles and practices * Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent Microsoft Excel skills * Excellent proficiency with payroll software.
